Privacy Policy

Chinese display mode is enabled for local UI testing. The legally controlling version of this document is the English version.

This Privacy Policy explains how PDF Scanner handles information when you use our mobile application. We designed the app to keep your documents under your control.

1. Information you choose to provide

PDF Scanner may access the photos, files, camera, and microphone-related capabilities you explicitly enable through iOS. We use that access only to provide the feature you request, such as scanning a document, importing images, creating a PDF, or saving an exported image.

If you contact us, we receive the email address and message you choose to send. We use that information to respond to your request and support the app.

2. Documents and images

Your scanned documents, imported images, PDF files, signatures, and extracted text are stored locally on your device unless you choose to share them or use a feature that explicitly sends them elsewhere. We do not sell your documents or use them for advertising.

3. Camera, photo library, and file access

Camera access is used to capture documents. Photo Library access is used to select images or save exported images when you request it. File access is used to import and export documents through the iOS document picker. You can change these permissions at any time in iOS Settings; some features may not work without them.

4. OCR, translation, and third-party services

Some features may use Apple system frameworks or other service providers to perform OCR, translation, file conversion, or payment-related functions. When a feature requires information to leave your device, iOS or the relevant service may process that information according to its own privacy terms. We do not use document content for targeted advertising.

5. Purchases and subscriptions

If paid features are offered, payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your full payment card information. Apple may provide transaction and subscription status information needed to validate your purchase.

6. Analytics and diagnostics

We may receive limited technical information needed to keep the app reliable, such as app version, operating system version, device type, and crash diagnostics. We do not intentionally collect the contents of your documents for analytics.

7. Data retention and deletion

Documents saved by the app remain on your device until you delete them or remove the app. You can delete locally stored documents from within the app. Support emails are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain records, or meet legal obligations.

8. Children’s privacy

PDF Scanner is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our practices or legal requirements change. The “Last Updated” date shows when this version took effect. Your continued use of the app after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
